Concrete Oil Tank Bases

New concrete Oil Tank Bases
Oil tank bases can be constructed fom 50mm concrete slabs or they can be made of poured concrete. Poured concrete is by far the best and longest lasting option, slab bases tend to move over time causing the oil tank to warp and ultimately crack.
Most old steel tanks are installed on brick or block piers to provide a gravity feed and also to keep them away from the damp ground in an attempt to prevent rusting.
We can build new bases from start to finish, our usual method is to prepare the site first by levelling, forming shuttering and compacting hardcore then laying reinforcing mesh where required.
We then mix and pour the concrete, whilst levelling and tamping
We finish the base by further tamping and then edging with an edging trowel.
Your new base then needs to cure before we can install your new oil tank

About us
iB Oil Tanks is a division of iB Heating and was born from a need from our customers.
We were often asked to replace, remove or install new oil tanks. This falls outside the scope and capabilities of most heating companies. We invested in specialised training and insurances, Hiab vehicles, oil transfer pumps and spare oil tanks to meet the need for oil tank services.
We identified a real lack of companies offering these crucial services especially with the heavy and bulky lifting that is often involved, we also invested in capabilities for emergency pump out services for leaking oil tanks in Kent and East Sussex and we have been called the 4th emergency service by our customers for this kind of emergency.
We can respond promptly to a leaking oil tank and minimise property and environmental damage that can otherwise be caused, not to mention very expensive clean up operations often with the environment agency’s involvement.
Since our entering into these services this side of our business has gone from strength to strength with hundreds of satisfied customers in the region.
We now find that a lot of people are being left with un used oil tanks in their gardens following installation of new gas boilers or heat pumps. We are happy to remove these tanks as not only are they an environmental disaster waiting to happen they can also be an eyesore.
We can manage the safe removal and responsible disposal of both plastic and steel oil tanks along with any remaining contents.
